Injectable Vitamins
What is B12? Also known as Cobalamin. B12 is a water soluble vitamin, meaning whatever is not absorbed by the body will be excreted in urine. B12 vitamins play a role in the metabolism of every cell in the human body. B vitamins are also essential in DNA synthesis, developing of healthy red blood cells, and playing an important role in the functioning of our nervous system.
Every body is different and B12 requirements may vary person to person. So who can benefit from B12 therapy? Everyone! Vegan diet, pregnancy and lactating women, anemic patients, people on antibiotics and heartburn medications, are all known to have B12 deficiency.
Why intramuscular vs oral intake?
Absorption is different in the different ways that you take medications and vitamins. When given orally, the vitamins have to go through the GI Track and that can decrease the amount of vitamin that is absorbed into the body. When B12 is given intramuscular, it skips over the GI Track and the body is able to absorb 100% of what it needs.
Ingredients in B12: B vitamins include thiamine, riboflavin, niacin/niacinamide, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folic acid, and pantothenic acid. Some brands of B vitamins also contain ingredients such as vitamin C, vitamin E, biotin, or zinc.
Benefits of B12: increased energy, immunity booster, weight loss, reduced brain fog, improvement in digestion, skin, hair, and nails, improvement in mood, increased metabolism, better sleep and more!
Lipotropic (MIC) injections: “Skinny Shot”
What is MIC? MIC stands for methionine, inositol and choline – the primary compounds in the injection. Methionine, inositol and choline are known as lipotropic substances that allegedly help you burn fat while maintaining proper and peak liver function.
For weight management, L- Methionine helps the body process and eliminate fat. It is a required amino acid in the production of cysteine and taurine, which help the body eliminate toxins. Inositol, when used in combination with other B complex vitamins, helps the liver break down fats in the body, and when used in combination with other compounds in a MIC injection, especially choline, inositol forms lecithin which is known to aid in the metabolism of fat. Choline is essential for fat metabolism, it functions as a methyl donor and it assists detoxification reactions in the liver.
When combined with healthy eating and exercise, these can help boost weight loss, increase metabolism and energy.
Injections can be done as much as twice a week for 3 months or can also be done less frequently.
